Right now, it’s probably just dawned on you that in just a few days time, you’re going to have your kids around 24/7. That’s right, school will be over for the Christmas break. While some parents will always look forward to this, and have lots of things planned well in advance – not all of us are that organised, as much as we wish we are. Because life can be busy and you often want to get through each day without having to think so far ahead.
But now that it’s pretty much upon us, it could be a good idea to get some ideas in mind. Because before long, they’re going to be bored of the playroom and they’re going to get restless. So let’s take a look at what you could do to keep them entertained.
One of the best things you can do together is bake. Even if you don’t want them to consume too much sugar, you can definitely make clean recipes, or just adapt some of the classics to something you’re happy with. But kids always love to bake, so it’s a great activity to do with them. And with Christmas around the corner, you’re also going to want to try out some festive favorites that you can give to friends, serve up at gatherings, or just enjoy yourselves.
Next, you’re going to want to think about visiting family too. This isn’t going to sound like a lot of fun for them at first, but it will kill two birds with one stone for you. Because you know that you need to visit at this time of year, and your kids may get excited knowing that they can play with their cousins or other relatives.
Give Different Activities A Go
When you don’t want to stay in and do the same old stuff, you might to try different activities that you’ve not done before. A great idea for this is to find activities to entertain the whole family in a new way – like those ideas. Whether it’s going out for the day or trying something at home, you should find that the kids will have a lot of fun, and that you’ll even enjoy yourself too.
Similarly to baking, you could also give different craft idea a go too. Because kids always love to get messy and play around with different things. So it will be so much fun for them to spend a few days making things. And with it being Christmas, you should definitely work on giving it a Christmas theme – like candles or tree ornaments.
Have Christmas Movie Marathons
And of course, there’s the best! Christmas movie marathons are something that we all love to do. When the weather is bad and you don’t have the energy to do much else, there’s nothing quite like cozying up on the sofa in some Christmas pyjamas and watching some of the best Christmas films ever made.
